WIND PROSPECT BLOWS IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION WITH ANOTHER
PLANNING SUCCESS
Wind Prospect can now claim to be England's leading wind
energy developer, following Fenland District Councils decision
last week to give the green light for 8 wind turbines (16MW)
at Glass Moor, near Whittlesey. This is the company's second
success in 2003 following the recent approval of a 16MW turbine
development at Deeping St Nicholas in Lincolnshire.
The Glass Moor Windcluster will have a rated capacity of
16MW and generate the equivalent electricity of that used
by 9600 homes. It will also save approximately 40,000 tonnes
of carbon dioxide per year.
Helen Plowman of Wind Prospect said:
"We have now been working this area for 6 years and have
three local successes due to our stringent site selection
process and our in depth knowledge of the area.
We are delighted with this decision; it puts the East of
England region firmly on the path to achieving their renewable
targets"
The Wind Prospect team has now achieved two thirds of England's
onshore planning successes this year, which bolsters their
leading onshore planning record for the last decade to over
85% of determined applications. They are also hoping for further
successes with 36MW to be determined in the coming months.
