ISO Certification for the Wind Prospect Group
On 13 February, the Wind Prospect Group received confirmation that it has achieved formal certification for quality (ISO 9001), health and safety (OHSAS 18001) and environment (ISO 14001) for development, construction, operations and consultancy relating to wind energy projects in the UK. These follow the achievement last year of certification as an Investor in People.
To gain all three standards at once is a significant achievement and is in fact quite unusual with most applicants normally starting with just one standard.
The certifications extend to all the Group’s activities in the UK, including:
- Wind Prospect – providing construction, operations and advisory services to owners, lenders and investors in wind energy
- Wind Direct – a joint venture with Econnect Ltd and Optimum Energy to supply low cost energy from wind turbines direct to major industrial users
- Wind Prospect Developments – a joint venture with EDF Energies Nouvelles, the renewables arm of the EDF Group, to develop onshore wind farms in the UK
- Ocean Prospect – leading in the development of wave energy in association with Ocean Power Delivery

Wind Prospect underwent audits by an external body, BVQi, at the end of 2005. The company’s next target is to extend the certification to its activities in Ireland and Australia.
