The Bagmoor Windcluster is a Wind Prospect proposal for a
cluster of 8 wind turbines on land north of Scunthorpe and
approximately 2km east of the village of Flixborough.
The turbines would each be 2MW with 80m towers and 45m long
blades.
These turbines would supply enough clean green electricity
to power the average domestic needs of around 8,900 homes,
and prevent the emission of 21,800 tonnes of harmful carbon
dioxide into the atmosphere.
Wind Prospect submitted the planning application in January 2005 and
the scheme was approved in mid 2006. Preconstruction activities are now under way, including detailed access
design and all other activities needed to fulfil the comprehensive list of planning conditions.
