The Red Tile Wind Farm consists of twelve 2MW (24MW) wind turbines. Nine of the turbines will be on the local Cambridgeshire County Council's land, whilst the other three turbines will be on neighbouring farmer's properties, offering significant local benefits.

Planning consent was granted in May 2004 and a turnkey contract was awarded to Repower UK by Fenland Wind Farms Ltd, part of the EDF Group.

Work began in summer 2006 with the installation of the turbine foundations, infrastructure and electrical works. By 2007 turbines were erected and the site energised in time for the best of the winter winds.
