The proposed Rusholme development consists of twelve 2MW (24MW) wind turbines that will provide clean green energy to meet the equivalent needs of over 13,420 homes. This would prevent approximately 32,700 tonnes of harmful CO2 being discharged into the atmosphere every year.

The proposal is in the parish of Newland with the nearest turbine being approximately 2km east of the village of Drax and approximately 1km northwest of the village of Airmyn. Each turbine’s hub would be at a height of 60m with 40m long blades (no greater than 100m total height).

The planning application was submitted for the wind farm after independent studies found that the area was suitable for a wind energy development. Local residents have already been able to find out more about the proposal at exhibitions held by Wind Prospect. Feedback from these exhibitions helped to finalise the plans for the project.
