The 23 turbine Tursillagh wind farm is located near Tralee
in Co. Kerry in the south west of the Republic of Ireland.
Peat from the blanket bog in which the turbines stand has
long been used as a local fuel source. Now the site additionally
provides clean energy to 8,400 homes.
Wind Prospect advised on design and cost issues and was appointed
construction project managers. Ground conditions proved difficult,
hence extensive foundations and pilings were required. This
site was commissioned in September 2000.
