Powering Community Prosperity

A revolutionary new scheme has been set up by Wind Prospect, called Windfall. Under this scheme local communities can receive benefits as a result of revenue generated by the wind farm. An added bonus is the fact that local communities will be making their own contribution to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Following are examples of suggested measures under Windfall:

Local Trust Fund
Local initiatives can be supported through a local trust fund, which the site owner will make regular contributions to. It is proposed that local people be responsible for the setting up of the management committee and delivery of funds to their local projects.

Investment Opportunity
Local people have the opportunity to invest in local wind farms through a local green energy investment company, for as little as £250-£500. The first of these to be set up is Fenland Cooperative, visit www.fens.coop for more information.

Eductation Enhancement
To further advance knowledge about energy conservation, climate chanage and energy sources, Wind Prospect often offer to equip local schools with education kits.

Innovative Electricity Supply
We are currently investigating the possibility of creating a not-for-profit organistaion to supply electricity from local projects, exclusively for people living in the vicinity.

Wind Prospect wish to offer local people an opportunity to become aware of the issues facing society in relation to energy generation and climate change and are confident that the Windfall scheme will do this.
